Collection: La Verite (The Truth)

La Verite (The Truth) by Mugisho Byamungu is offered in multiple formats, including unframed archival matte poster, canvas and framed canvas options.

Two children watch a yellow van fade down a sunlit road, their eyes lifted toward a glowing sky that seems to belong only to them. Their carefree stance echoes the artist’s belief that in Congo, true independence is felt most honestly by children, not the adults burdened by conflict. The moment radiates both wonder and a quiet, unsettling truth about freedom.

About the Artist

Mugisho Byamungu Etienne is an emerging Congolese painter whose work explores the tension between what we hide, what society expects, and what we long to become. Currently studying in the Painting Department at the Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts, he creates introspective works that mirror the human search for wholeness through contrasts of shadow and light. His growing artistic presence includes a group exhibition at the National Museum of Kinshasa and participation in the Velasquez Project organized by the Spanish Embassy in the DRC.
